Available today and for the next few weeks… a salad of fresh-shaved and roasted asparagus, chopped romaine, radicchio, sweet and spicy peppadews, Jaylee’s green garlic Caesar dressing, fried capers, aged Parmesan and marbled rye croutons. (dressing contains anchovy and raw egg)

We had a ton of fun cooking with Filipino flavors this April for the inaugural“Sobrang Sarap”, a collaborative food and beverage event showcasing the diversity of Filipino cuisine in Portland. Big thanks to @alist_pdx, @baonkainan @magnapdx / @magnakubo for mobilizing and facilitating. Come get this pancit-inspired salad (while supplies last) with @umiorganic yakisoba noodles, peanut curry and fish sauce dressing, crunchy spring veggies, green chile crunch, fresh herbs and flowers. ✌️🇵🇭

Kicking off #aapimonth with one of our favorite sundae specials ever… a tribute to all things Japan, the intrinsic appeal of cherry blossom season and our obsession with matcha’s savory, grassy sweetness.

With vanilla bean soft serve, @jorinjimiso caramel, @mizubateaco matcha crinkle cookies, black sesame-oreo crunch and sakura-cherry cloud whip. We cured our own cherry blossoms this year with salt and ume vinegar for even more floral umami.

If you missed this one last year, it’s for sure a run-don’t-walk situation. Available now and for the next few weeks at the drive-in. ✌️🌸🍵🌱💗

Our Spring-signature veggie sandwich highlights the satisfying texture and umami of roasted Cauliflower.

Each Spring the “𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐥’ 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝” sandwich returns to the menu with a new twist, and this season’s set focuses on flavors of the Middle East… with preserved lemon, @kingharvestpnw roasted red pepper hummus, whipped feta blended with a house Yemeni-style green chile hot sauce called “zhug”, made with a ton of herbs and toasted coriander, cumin and cardamom. @fiddleheadfarmer greens and an almond brittle spiced with nigella and aleppo pepper add additional crunch and even more subtle spice; while castelvetrano olive and pickled jicama balance with brightness and acidity.

We think this is our best version yet. It’s so good as a rice bowl, and we have a plant-based version available too. Come see us soon. We’re back open for the week (Thursday thru Monday 11 to 5). ✌️

April’s fair weather brought everbearing strawberries to market early this year, and we’re not mad about it... We’ll still wait a few more weeks to stain our fingers red at u-pick strawberry farms throughout the gorge and Portland’s semi rural suburbs.

In the meantime, it’s SUNDAY and our “𝑻𝑶𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑬𝑹 𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑫𝑬𝑳” sundae is here to satisfy all your sweet strawberry cravings… inspired by the iconic breakfast pastry, with a swirl of vanilla-oat and strawberry sorbet, roasted strawberry sauce, puff pastry strudel bites, strawberry-cashew “cheese” cake and vanilla icing. “𝑷𝑰𝑵𝑶𝒀 𝑵𝑶𝑶𝑫𝑳𝑬 𝑪𝑹𝑼𝑵𝑪𝑯”… a new salad special for Week 4 (the final week) of 𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇, loosely inspired by “𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐓” (Filipino stir-fried noodles) and “𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐄-𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐄” (peanut-based stew). Last couple days to come and try our current sandwich special, “𝑪𝑯𝑰𝑪𝑲𝑬𝑵 𝑨𝑫𝑶𝑩𝑶 𝑺𝑳𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑹𝑺” (also available as a rice bowl or salad).

Restaurants throughout the Portland area participating in #FilipinoFoodMonth made dishes inspired by the classic vinegar and soy-braise recipe central to Filipino cuisine last week.

We took a subtle approach to translating the pungent and punchy flavors of Adobo to sandwich with a quick soy brine, hot smoke and vinegary-sweet soy glaze of pasture-raised chicken thighs. Special shout out to our pitmaster @chadolson809 and head chef @dustest who will have glazed 2600 chicken thighs and prepared as many crispy chicken skins by the end of the weekend. It’s been a short, two-week lunch special but ya’ll really came out for it… our best selling sandwich ever. 🙌🇵🇭✌️

Calamansi (aka “Philippine Lime”) is a citrus fruit native to the Philippines, with a flavor similar to sour mandarin orange, kumquat and lime. It is used widely in Filipino cuisine… on the savory side to balance pungent soy and fish sauce marinades and sauces. It has also become a star ingredient for many desserts and baked goods.
